• Welcome to Montréal !

Picture : Übercool the duck in the Montréal subway !

    Hi folks !

Passport in one hand, suitcase in the other... Here I stand, in Airport Roissy Charles de Gaulle, waiting for my flight. Weird feeling, to leave everything behind and start all over. Good feeling, though.

Of course, I chose the best day to arrive in Montréal : january 2nd, -40° celsius ! Here, the word "cold" REALLY means something. First thing I do : buy a coat !

I will be staying with a real "québecois", friend of my parents, who's teaching me everything I need to know about the city and the way of life.

    A few facts :

    - the prices are always free from taxes, so you always need to add 15%

    - the prices also don't include the service : don't forget to leave tips !

    - McDonald's here is hilarious : they call a Happy Meal a "joyeux festin" !

    - People queue for the bus, just like in England

    - They usually eat dinner around 6 pm

And, last but not least : it's not a myth, people are NICE !

I had my first classes this week. I chose 4 courses :

COMM 212 Business Communication, which is quite nice and will help me improve my oral skills

COMM 223 Marketing Management, which is here an introduction to marketing and covers notions we already talked about in french but from an Anglo-Saxon point of view

COMM 320 Entrepreneurship, super duper interesting, the teacher is truly mesmerizing !

MANA 343 Negotiation and conflict resolution, can't wait to see more of that

I'm having troubles with my laptop so I have to use the school's computer, so I might have trouble posting articles on my blog... I'll do my best to keep it going !

    Keep it up :)
